What this asks of us
Hebrews connects gathering with encouragement. We come to receive, but we also come so another person is not left to carry faith alone. Wesley's words push against a private Christianity that never becomes relationship. Every congregation operates differently, so the goal is not to force a particular program. It is to be present enough to notice someone, learn a name, share a conversation, and take part in the life of the church.

Choose one step you can take with sincerity. Faithfulness grows through practices we can actually keep.
If health, mobility, caregiving, or work makes it difficult to linger, ask your church about a phone call, visit, small group, accessible gathering, or another way to remain connected.

Stay ten minutes
After worship or Mass, resist the quick exit. Introduce yourself to one person or speak with someone standing alone.

Turn a greeting into connection
Learn one name, ask one genuine question, and look for that person the next time you gather.

Offer one manageable service
Ask your pastor, priest, or ministry leader about one useful role that fits your season: greeting, setup, coffee, cleanup, meals, prayer, or a one-time event.
A SIMPLE PRAYER
Christ, make me more than an attendee. Help me encourage someone, receive the care of your people, and offer my time and gifts with humility. Amen.
